With the massive steps back we`ve seen this week and in recent years, we need pride now more than ever.
Human rights are literally eroding in front of our eyes. If we don`t act now, history tells us what`s coming next.
So wear your gay card loud and proud! 📢 Show your love and be who you are without shame, without fear of judgement.
We`re all born this way, as nature intended – and pride is a safe space to blossom! 🪻
We need to lift each other up, to connect, to unify. To speak up, to stand tall, to stand proud. 🦁
Let`s do this for all of us who live our truth, even when some in our wider community show no acceptance or wilfully misunderstand. When our loved ones fail to love, or `unconditional love` is conditional.
Let`s do this for all our queer siblings around the world who can`t be themselves. Who face persecution and risk their lives. Who still choose to be themselves, rather than live a lie.
Let`s do this for all those who came before us, and all those who will come. We are all connected in this rainbow tapestry across the ages. There is so much love and power in that. Our ancestors are cheering us on!

Pride month is here for you to be authentically you and PROUD of who you are!
Growing up in a heteronormative cisnormative society is NOT for the weak.
We had to suppress a huge part of our identities throughout our lives, and often still do. There`s so much inner work needed to heal.
So be weird! 🤪
`Weirdness` is often just individuality in a society that tries to make us the same.
`Cringe` is usually just the fear of honest expression from those who feel unable to be themselves.
`Judgement` is often just social comparison, and nobody got time for that!
Let out whoever you were before you had to hide. Your survival strategies may no longer be serving you, and losing them may be a huge weight off your shoulders.
Of course, put your own safety first.
If you can`t come out, try to be more you in some other way – get that mask off!
Even in private – give yourself some kind of space to breathe and just be.
In the words of Gil Scott Heron, you can be so very beautiful when you are who you are x

Good news for the Channel Islands economy! 🗞️
The University of Staffordshire`s 2024 Economic Impact Report provided insights into the influence of Channel Islands Pride on our local economy.
With around 5,000 attendees spending an average of £250 per person, the economic contribution was approx. £1,250,000 in that year alone.
Key sectors such as hospitality, retail, and transport were supported through an average spend of £100 on accommodation, £60 on food and drink, and £50 on travel.
💬 "The significant expenditure highlights the event`s role in boosting local businesses within the hospitality and retail sectors while promoting social cohesion and visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community." – University of Staffordshire, 2024
This year`s CI Pride is the 10th year in Guernsey. We expect it will be even bigger than 2024 – offering even more support for our local island community! 📈

Except for Liberation Day, CI Pride is the biggest free community event in Guernsey.
It`s for the WHOLE community – in more ways than just the open invite! 💌
How much does CI Pride cost? 🤔 Each year, our amazing sponsors and partners cover CI Pride`s main overheads of about £100,000.
The University of Staffordshire`s Economic Impact Report estimated that CI Pride 2024 brought in a "total economic contribution of approximately £1,250,000" to our island across the weekend.
