but why? 🤔 because we actually recognise that you`re human. you’ll have good qualities in there somewhere.

why does pride, or celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and identity, make you feel funny? what makes you want to scream to the world ‘I don’t want to see this’? what feelings does it really stir in you? where is that coming from?
you might not understand us, yourself, or what pride is about – so come and find out! you might just get a glimpse of that love and community you`re missing x
if you don`t have the bravery or the decency to do that, maybe stop throwing your unsolicited opinions in people`s faces, or get in a tizzy for people not respecting your disrespect x
and remember, the more people who support pride, the more our whole economy benefits!

Pride month is here for you to be authentically you and PROUD of who you are!
Growing up in a heteronormative cisnormative society is NOT for the weak.
We had to suppress a huge part of our identities throughout our lives, and often still do. There`s so much inner work needed to heal.
So be weird! 🤪
`Weirdness` is often just individuality in a society that tries to make us the same.
`Cringe` is usually just the fear of honest expression from those who feel unable to be themselves.
`Judgement` is often just social comparison, and nobody got time for that!
Let out whoever you were before you had to hide. Your survival strategies may no longer be serving you, and losing them may be a huge weight off your shoulders.
Of course, put your own safety first.
If you can`t come out, try to be more you in some other way – get that mask off!
Even in private – give yourself some kind of space to breathe and just be.
In the words of Gil Scott Heron, you can be so very beautiful when you are who you are x

Except for Liberation Day, CI Pride is the biggest free community event in Guernsey.
It`s for the WHOLE community – in more ways than just the open invite! 💌
How much does CI Pride cost? 🤔 Each year, our amazing sponsors and partners cover CI Pride`s main overheads of about £100,000.
The University of Staffordshire`s Economic Impact Report estimated that CI Pride 2024 brought in a "total economic contribution of approximately £1,250,000" to our island across the weekend.
Each pound invested into CI Pride is multipled over tenfold! 📈 CI Pride is more than just a celebration – it`s an opportunity for economic resilience – and benefits our whole island community 🇬🇬
